New Concrete Dam Regulator Spillway

Client: Hydro Power Generation client on the West Coast

Project Description: The project involved replacing the existing spillway at the concrete gravity dam with a new spillway on the right abutment of the dam. This new spillway is designed to safely pass the current probable maximum flood (PMF) flow and comply with regulatory requirements

Total Project Cost: $100M-$125M (Approx)

Project Role: Accountable for overseeing and managing all facets of project controls, including:

  • Developing project estimates
  • Preparing and updating monthly project forecasts and schedules
  • Managing project actuals and revising estimates at completion
  • Providing explanations for forecast variances
  • Preparing and updating monthly executive RYG reports
  • Managing vendors and vendor invoices, including review and approval
  • Overseeing budget management and funding authorization
  • Managing project risks, including updating the risk register and change logs
  • Tracking commitments and managing change orders

Project Outcome: Implemented and executed robust project controls processes and system to ensure confidence in the overall project cost and timeline. Our proactive approach enabled the client to identify and mitigate project costs and schedule risks leading to a successful project outcome.
